Coach Dudley is in his sixth season as a gameday assistant for Montgomery Blair. Dudley also serves as the director of the Blair Football mentoring program, "Coaching Boys to Men".
Originally from Steelton, PA (a small town outside of Harrisburg, PA), Coach Dudley attended Steelton-Highspire (Steel-High) High School, home of the Steam-Rollers. While at Steel-High, despite his severe asthma and small body frame, he became one of the top running backs in the area, and was instrumental in leading the team to win two consecutive District Championships and one State Championship.
"Coach Dudley brings a great combination of maturity, intelligence, football knowledge, and credibility to our program. He is a wonderful role model for all of our players, and has a lot of wisdom and knowledge to share", said head coach Andrew Fields.
Coach Dudley was recruited by the University of Kansas Jayhawks and Lafayette University Leopards, but ultimately suited up for the Temple Owls at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. As a walk-on football player on an academic scholarship, Coach Dudley spent his freshman year redshirted. It did not take long for the coaching staff to recognize his talent and determination, which earned him a full football scholarship. Coach Dudley played in 44 out of 45 games as Strong Safety in his career as a Temple Owl. His most decorated highlight is a 74-yard interception return for a touchdown, now coined the proverbial “pick-six”, against Boston College in his junior season, which secured him a spot in the Temple Owls Record Book for one of the longest interception returned for a touchdown in the school’s football history.
Coach Dudley graduated in 1990 from Temple University with a degree in Computer & Information Science. Prior to joining the Montgomery Blair coaching staff, he coached at Northwest High School with Coach Fields and spent several years coaching youth football programs including the Firebirds and South Germantown organizations. Currently he works for Fannie Mae as an Information Technology (IT) Manager and is also a certified Professional Life Coach. He resides in Frederick, MD.
